SECURITY INFORMATION CENTRE The Security Information Centre has been established in the foyer of North Shields Police Station, the Headquarters of Tynemouth Area Command of Northumbria Police The Security Information Centre offers "Hands-On" viewing of Locks, Alarms, and other security products for the home and business. This confidential service is for visitors to the region who want to discuss their security concerns with an impartial Police Crime Prevention Officer, or Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator. The Booklet, `Your Practical Guide to Crime Prevention', has over a hundred tips on how to prevent crime. A Security Products and Services Database has also been established with research going back over the last 6 years. The Products Database has over 500 entries of Security Companies which specialise in various products, which reduce the risk of crime. It is hoped to expand the information centre into the community in the future. |
